Lake Tsivlos

Tsivlos is a small mountain village in the municipality of Akrata, Achaea, Greece. It is built on the slopes of Mount Chelmos, above the river Krathis, at about 750 m elevation. It is a mountain resort and has several hostels and taverns. It is 35 km from Akrata and 110 km from Patras.

Lake Tsivlos, north of the village, was formed by a landslide in 1913 which is nestled between mountain slopes at an altitude of 754 meters with the impressive fir trees of Helmos creating an alpine setting. Today Lake Tsivlou is a very important wetland that hosts many species of flora and fauna. The area is ideal for walking, rowing and cycling
