Departing from Athens to Corinth, passing outside Kiato, we continue to Stymfalia, stopping at the Museum of the same name to admire unique exhibits, which aim to highlight the interaction of man and nature. Then we visit Lake Stymfalia, which is considered one of the most important wetlands in the Peloponnese, and is a paradise for protected and migratory birds. We continue to the artificial Lake Doxa located in Feneo, Corinth, at an altitude of 900 meters. In the center of the lake dominates the church of Agios Fanourios.
Lake Doxa is an artificial lake in western Corinthia, Greece. It is situated at an elevation of 900 m, in the municipal unit Feneos, near the village Archaia Feneos. In the heart of the lake on a small peninsula features a small church of Agios Fanourios. The Saint George Monastery in Feneos was relocated to higher ground, north of the lake. The lake is surrounded by pine forests.
It is a closed karst basin with a wetland area and an agrarian area. The lake is an important stopover for migratory birds. The size of the lake varies, depending on the season. The area is rich in birds, amphibians and plant life.The area is also mentioned in Greek Mythology, due to the Stymphalian birds
